We are standing today in a meritorious and auspicious day to also accept good resolutions regarding adding and strengthening in the service and mission that the Rebbe, my father-in-law, the leader of our generation, gave to every Jew of our generation — the dissemination of Torah and mitzvos in general,

and in particular, the dissemination of the wellsprings outward:

It is a Shabbos day — where every detail of the day becomes a part of the fulfillment of the mitzvah of Shabbos.

And Shabbat, its essence is Torah²,

and the Torah itself — the inner dimension of the Torah³.

It is the Shabbat of blessing the new month of Nissan,

and the Shabbat of Parshat HaChodesh,

which has been said

Rosh Chodesh Nissan⁴.

The month of Nissan — is the month of geulah⁵,

The redemption from the Egyptian exile.

And all the kingdoms

(the exiles,

including the exile

are called by the name of Egypt⁶,

And also the redemption from this exile is compared to the redemption from Egypt — "as in the days of your exodus from the land of Egypt I will show you wonders"⁷; and the redemption comes through "your springs will spread outward"⁸.

Connected — Rosh Chodesh Nissan — with Jews, every Jew, as our Sages of blessed memory said⁹ that when He chose Yaakov and his sons, He gave them the month of Nissan.

The Shabbos blesses the day of the 2nd of Nissan,

and the spreading of the wellsprings outward.

And particularly when one is still in exile,

and in exile itself — in a situation where there has remained

A connection associated with the "evil spirit",

Which wants to destroy the spring and river,

the source of living waters,

Hashem and His Torah and mitzvos, in general and in particular — the matter of spreading the wellsprings outward —

Therefore, one proposes:

On Erev Rosh Chodesh Nissan — since Erev Rosh Chodesh in general is an auspicious day,

"Yom Kippur Katan"⁵,

the month of Redemption — should every man,

Giving charity according to the measure of one meal — as the Alter Rebbe explains in Igeres HaTeshuvah,

That in this time, "and your sin shall be atoned with charity"²,

And in our case — charity in place of the fast on the eve of Rosh Chodesh²².

And how good — charity connected with the institutions

(Torah,

prayer,

charity)

and the activities of the Rebbe, my father-in-law,

And especially — in the work of spreading the wellsprings outward.

And in addition to this — let each one also increase

and particularly on Erev Rosh Chodesh Nissan)

in his activities in disseminating the Torah

Shabbos Parshas Vayikra-Parah,

blessing the new month of Nissan,

Parshas HaChodesh

and Judaism and the dissemination of the wellsprings outward,

and particularly in the 'Pesach Campaign'²³ — to see that other Jews have all their needs for Pesach,

both the material needs²⁴,

And furthermore, the main point — the spiritual needs: that they should know the laws of Pesach,

and fulfill the mitzvos of Pesach, etc.

And then — one should continue to engage in all these matters on Rosh Chodesh Nissan,

which this year is the third day that had 'ki tov' doubled²⁵,

And how good — this also to bind with a farbrengen on Rosh Chodesh Nissan of several Jews from Israel,

according to the suitable conditions in each and every place.

And we also request — that this be publicized to other Jews,

wherever one can reach them,

And to explain it to them in letters that they can understand.

And of course — that in addition to the above suggestions,

each and every one can and must add from their own matters of goodness and holiness.

And in particular — it is given over to the shluchim of our generation's Nasi,

that they should consult together,

"A man should help his fellow and to his brother say ‘be strong’²⁶,

and decide what can and must be added in doing in all these matters.

May it be His will that it should be completely nullified, like "a speck of blood on the face of water,"

and no impression whatsoever shall remain — on the contrary, an addition of light, goodness and holiness,

and the main point — to hasten more the redemption from this, the final exile,

and may it not delay them even for the blink of an eye²⁷,
