In the current haftorah it is told about Eliyahu the prophet what he did during a time of distress — which came,

like every time of distress,

from confusion of opinions and bewilderment of minds.

Eliyahu the prophet gathered all the prophets of Baal with all the Jews,

and said to them,

How long will you hobble on two branches?
