English translation — יחידות אור לי"ז תמוז

To the group of chassanim and kallahs, may they live. The ¹ Supreme One should bless and make successful the chassanim and the kallahs,

each one individually and all of them together,

in everything that they need.

And especially—that the preparations for the wedding should be in a good,

Jewish,

successful, and Chassidic manner.

And the wedding itself should be at a good and auspicious hour,

it should be an everlasting edifice²,

upon the foundations of Torah and mitzvah.

And even before the wedding, each one of them and their relatives should increase in the dissemination of Judaism,

Torah and mitzvos and all good matters,

and out of joy and goodness of heart.

For this is indeed the fitting preparation that afterward the home should be an everlasting edifice in a manner of "a house of gathering for the wise"³,

first of all from one's own sons and daughters who engage in Torah and His mitzvos,

and also—a house where true wise men in the wisdom of Torah gather together,

because one knows that this is a warm house,

a Jewish house,

a Torah house and a Chassidic house.

And through the increase in the aforementioned preparations,

fitting to the blessings mentioned—the preparations add even more to bringing the blessings into actuality.

And especially since "a good thought, the Holy One, blessed be He, joins to action"⁴,

and as explained in Tanya⁵ and in Chassidic discourses⁶ that the Supreme One makes special counsels and ways and paths so that the good resolution brings with it new ways that there should be good deeds,

and all this—out of joy and goodness of heart.

Just as tzedakah is indeed a "cup of salvations"⁷,

that through tzedakah the Supreme One gives His charity,

with His full, open, holy, and expansive hand,

and in everything needed and in perfection,

And especially when it concerns an "everlasting edifice",

"for eternity and for all eternities",

from this is understood the greatness and depth and breadth of the blessings that the Supreme One gives.

Therefore it is fitting,

that both the chassan and the kallah,

on the day of their wedding⁸,

in the morning,

should give from their money to tzedakah.

And how good—that the parents should also do so,

and all who desire their good and their blessings.

And do this with the good resolution that one will increase in all matters of Judaism,

and especially in matters of love of Israel and unity of Israel,

which is also expressed through tzedakah.

For tzedakah can be fulfilled even if the other is a great wealthy person—through helping him out with good advice or a good word.

For all this adds success in the preparations for the wedding,

and that the wedding should be at a good and auspicious hour,

and also the seven days of feasting,

And afterward there should be length of days and good years after this,

with sons and grandsons who engage in Torah and His mitzvos.

And also merit to lead their children with the relatives to the chuppah and wedding at a good and auspicious hour—through raising them to Torah, to the chuppah, and to good deeds.

In order to have the merit and the participation in the joy in general,

and especially a joy that is above limitation,

like the joy of chassan and kallah;

And especially that through all this one further hastens the fulfillment of the promise that "speedily...

there shall be heard in the cities of Yehudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim...

the voice of the chassan and the voice of the kallah"⁹,

with all the matters enumerated in the verse¹⁰,

with the coming of Mashiach our righteousness

I will also give each one of you a dollar,

to join it to the money that you will give to tzedakah.

And since "great is tzedakah that brings the redemption near"¹¹,

even one single tzedakah,

all the more so tzedakah from several Jews—all these tzedakos should be joined together¹²,

and especially since this is also a tzedakah of a chassan and kallah who are compared, according to the Torah of truth, to a king and queen¹³,

that a king and queen lead with all the matters that surround them—

May all this add even more success in everything needed,

for themselves and for the family,

and especially in the matters of the wedding.

And one should go from joy to joy,

from the joy of "Hashem's vengeance upon Midian"¹⁴,

that every impression of Midian and machlokes, G-d forbid, will be nullified,

for there will be love of Israel and unity of Israel,

"love, brotherhood, peace, and friendship"¹⁵,

with the ten expressions of joy¹⁶,

And very soon one will merit to greet Mashiach our righteousness,

when there will be the marriage of the Supreme One with the Jewish people¹⁷,

and with joy and goodness of heart,

And speedily, in our days, literally.
