English translation — יחידות אור לי"א סיון

Private audience of the group of Bar Mitzvah and their parents, may they live.

May the¹ Almighty bless and grant success to each of the Bar Mitzvah,

that they take upon themselves the yoke of the kingdom of heaven and the yoke of Torah and mitzvos,

"with joy and inwardness"

(as we just wished each other at the time of the Giving of our Torah)².

And may the good resolution accompany them throughout all the days of their lives.

And since one resolves it,

it is indeed "the Holy One, blessed be He, helps him"³,

the Almighty helps that one carry out the resolution to the fullest extent,

with joy and a good heart,

in good health and with joy and with Chassidic vitality,

and in a manner of "increasing and going",

continually rising from day to day,

for since one becomes older by a day and

(certainly)

wiser

(older in wisdom)

by a day, one also becomes older in piety and Judaism.

And the fulfillment of "If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and do them"⁴,

will also add to the Almighty's blessings enumerated in the portion,

the reward of Torah and mitzvos,

which one needs.

And this will also add to the blessing of the parents

(of the Bar Mitzvah),

who educated them in such a manner,

that they should grow up and be guardians of Torah and mitzvah out of joy and a good heart, through which they fulfilled what the Almighty entrusted to them,

the education of children in the way of Torah and mitzvos.

And the conduct of the parents,

adds to their merit,

in addition to the merit they have on their own. And this includes both parents and other relatives who helped in the education of the children.

May it be His will,

that all this add even more to the desire and the vitality of each Jew and all Jews

(from small to great)

to do matters of Judaism,

and in spreading Judaism and G-dliness throughout the entire world,

and doing this with health, livelihood, vitality, joy, and a good heart.

As is the custom among Jews,

it is fitting that the "Bar Mitzvah" should learn⁵ the fourteenth chapter of Tehillim on the day of the Bar Mitzvah,

the book of David, King Moshiach.⁶

And on this day he should give to charity more than he gives every day. And if the day of the Bar Mitzvah is on Shabbos or Yom Tov, one should give the charity on Erev Shabbos and Erev Yom Tov or on the day after Shabbos and Yom Tov.

And how good,

that also the parents should do the same,

for the merit of the Bar Mitzvah.

And may the Almighty help each one of you,

among the entirety of the Jewish people,

to have length of days and good years,

good years in all respects,

both in material and spiritual matters,

to do more and more in all matters of good,

and especially in spreading Judaism.

And through all this one will hasten even more the happy time,

when the Almighty will fulfill His well-known promise,

and will very soon take out from exile each one of you and of us and of the entire Jewish people.

And lead us to our Holy Land,

and there specifically to Yerushalayim, the holy city,

and there to the Beis HaMikdash,

which will be built very soon,

by Moshiach our Righteous.

In order to take a part in all these good things and good mitzvos, one will give

(as is the custom in recent years)

each one of you a dollar,

with the condition to give it to charity for the merit of the Bar Mitzvah and his father and mother and his family and all of the Jewish people.

And great is charity, for it brings the redemption closer⁷, may this hasten even more the true and complete redemption by Moshiach our Righteous,

may it be speedily in our days, literally.
