English translation — ראש השנה א

According to the previous explanation, however,

it is understandable: the service of "commandment" and "repentance" in the shofar,

reach indeed into Atzmus,

the place of free choice,

they draw down only revelations – an arousal from above which comes through and because of an arousal from below; specifically the self-nullification of the essence of the soul which is in the shofar – "you shall make Me king" – reaches into Atzmus,

there where Jews are one thing with the Supreme One and He chooses them from His own self in His free choice – and not that the shofar blast is a cause which opens and brings out the "He will choose"²¹.

In Atzmus there are certainly no limitations, heaven forbid,

so since the drawing down,

which is drawn down on Rosh Hashanah through the shofar blast,

is from Atzmus itself,

then in this drawing down there is no relevance of calculations and it has no limitations from the order of the chain of descent – then surely the drawing down will be as He wills,

for He certainly wills a certain good

(as it is stated that "the light of the king's face" is only "life"),

and good in physicality

(as is known²²

that Atzmus is connected, as it were, with physicality),

that there will be drawn down from Atzmus a writing and sealing for good for a good and sweet year in a good that is seen and revealed.
